Echoing the other people who felt betrayed by the free tier changes, I get that you guys wanted to monetize, but I also think you guys understand changing something from free to $54/year is gonna cause people to be annoyed like the "well, well, well, if it isnt the consecuences of my own actions" meme. As for what I'm changing to, I've fully uninstalled Toby and migrated the bookmarks to Raindrop.io and created a new tab experience by using a new tab redirect extension and a github repo called "Raindrop-HomePage" and modified it to show an specific collection.

I've been using Toby for over 5 years now, and let me just say—I'm NOT that person with a million tabs open at once (you know who you are!). Toby has become the backbone of my daily workflow. With just one click, I can jump between projects without hunting through chaotic bookmark folders (goodbye, ugly bookmark bar). And don’t get me started on the “collapse all” feature. Who on Earth wants 27 tabs staring them down all day? Toby keeps my digital workspace tidy, which means my brain gets to stay clutter-free too. Honestly, why isn't this the backbone of everyone's Chrome? It's a mystery! For the price, it's so reasonable and worth it. The Toby team has proven to be responsive and agile, everything I look for in a team, and it's reflected in the tool too! Toby is easy, sleek, and dare I say... life-changing. Huge fan here!

They say "costs" are the reason they ruined this great extension. Ha! There are cloud services that offer 1 TB of data annually for less than $50/year, and you are gonna try and say saving a few KBs of tab reference data costs more than that? Let me know when you come back to reality. This decision was pure greed. If you really want to make money try and sell this extension as a built in feature to google. Otherwise ask for donations once a year like Wikipedia or better yet be transparent about actual backend costs and such. But if you decide to keep it this way you will get steamrolled by an open source project. The worst thing you can do on the internet is make something free and accessible and then begin charging for it.

simple tool, good if free, but now that they are forcing you to pay or you will not be able to use it , then no

Excellent product! I have used this product for 2-3 years, and rank it as one of my top productivity tools! Great feedback and customer support. I now pay for my account, gladly, even though I was a Legacy account, but I want this team to be creating for the long run, so well worth the cost!

I've been using Toby for I think a little over 2 years. It is great. Before Toby, I saved every tab in a bookmark folder. I have I think about four thousand bookmark folders, literally. Too many to deal with efficiently. Toby lets me see all my tabs visually, and I can open tabs directly from Toby with one click. So far, I have only been using Toby for this purpose. I learned today that Toby has additional features, which I may explore in the future. Customer support today has been very quick to respond, friendly, and helpful. I have had the free plan all this time. However, I just upgraded to a paid plan. I have no objection to paying for this service. And, so far, never any ads at all.

Toby has been my companion throughout my seven-year career, significantly boosting my productivity and helping me stay organized. I truly appreciate the team’s dedication to developing such a thoughtful and efficient tool. However, it's disappointing to see that the features in the free plan have recently been scaled back. While I completely understand the need for the team to monetize and sustain the platform, I have reservations about the current pricing. That said, I sincerely wish the team all the best in their future endeavors, and I hope to see more great products from them. For others who still have a need for bookmark management tools, I’d also recommend checking out Papaly. Its bookmark organization system is quite similar to Toby's.

Toby is awesome! I've been a user for a couple years now and it's totally changed the trajectory of how I am able to organize my work days. I was a bit surprised when they switched to paid plans however the price point is so low in comparison to other platforms that I can't complain. I'll still be supporting team TOBY and thank god for that chrome extension!!

I was a Toby fan and recommended it to others, but like everyone else I am shocked that they suddenly made it paid. I started using it for it's most basic tab management functionality and that is still the only thing I use. I have no problem if you add additional paid functionality like you initially did (collaboration, teams, organisations, productivity, mobile, teamwork etc). But don't get people to commit their tab management on the basis of a free plan to then pull the rug and force them to pay to use the same basic features. One guy had a simple idea and with two friends created a chrome extension. Lot's of people liked it and WOM spread leading to millions of downloads. But somewhere along the line Arthur left and someone thought: "we can turn this into a business and get rich!" So you started hiring more people and developing enterprise focused features that you could charge money for. But sadly the revenue was not enough, someone wanted more and someone had a terrible idea: "We still have those millions of customers that are depended on the original basic chrome extension, because they have been using it for years and would loose everything... let's force them to pay! (maniacal laughter)" And so ends the tragic tale of Toby, a once beloved tab manager that flew to close to the sun and decided "If I'm going down I'll take all our customers with me" The moral of the story is that not every product needs to be the next unicorn. Sometimes a cool little chrome extension is just a cool little chrome extension. Ben, Gui, Jad, JP, Summer and Yasmin - I hope you reconsider. Make the basic functionality free again. Any extra features you can make paid if you have to and if that doesn't make you enough money, consider doing something else, another project, another idea, another place, another opportunity. You are young and talented, don't let your legacy be that you ruined Toby. It can remain a nice thing millions of users enjoy, that you contributed to, even if it turns out it doesn't support a team of six. Some projects are meant to stay small. TLDR: You had a nice little chrome extension everyone loved, but someone got greedy and wanted it to be more, in the end ruining the nice thing you had.

Toby is absolutely brilliant! I guess like most people who use web based productivity apps you very quickly end up with a sea of tabs and spend more time than is healthy searching for "that" particular one. Toby takes all that away. It's so simple and yet so powerful and easy to use. It's like the thing that stops you loosing your car keys/phone/glasses but for tabs. Thank you Team Toby!

Don't know if it's just me, seems like I got a malware a few weeks ago, got windows blue screen of d3ath unstoppably, for days and days. My windows boot was compromised, anyways lots of hours spent trying to solve this. Nothing seemed to work. Long story short, removed chrome extensions one by one. After I removed Toby extension specifically, what a surprise, I just stopped having any problems whatsoever. No blue screens, nothing. Amazing extension, used it for years, but I had to remove it. Even uninstalled chrome and now using brave. Working like a charm.

As someone who perpetually finds myself drowning in a sea of tabs, Toby has been a revelation. This sleek extension transforms the chaos of my browser into a beautifully organized workspace. Instead of endless scrolling through countless tabs, Toby lets me categorize everything effortlessly. The drag-and-drop feature is intuitive, making it a breeze to sort my research for various projects—from sci-fi print ideas to horror inspirations. Plus, the visual layout helps me locate what I need at a glance, saving me precious minutes (and sanity) during those late-night creative sessions. If you’re like me and tend to open too many tabs while trying to keep your thoughts organized, Toby is an absolute must-have. It’s streamlined, user-friendly, and perfect for anyone looking to tame their digital clutter.

This app is really wonderful to help me keep my tabs organized and keep my computer running faster. Love it for both home and work.

Hello developer, I can open multiple web pages through open tabs, but I can't open multiple web pages through the open button in the shared link. Instead, it directly jumps to the download address of [toby plugin]。 is bug?or What can I do?

Zeff Coronel

The best extension for tab management ⚡ I've been using Toby for a couple of years now, and nothing comes even close. If you really want to get your tabs organized and boost your productivity, look no further—Toby is the extension you need today.

Brian Heath

I have been using this extension for so long that I can't even remember what year I installed it. However, I have it on every single one of my browsers and on all of my computers. It helps to keep me organized and even makes my life so much easier. I know this sounds cliché, but I am super cereal!! ;-) I have severe ADHD, and so lists or organized 'repositories' such as this is very much a gigantic help for me. Not to mention, it helps keep my otherwise 100+ browser tabs down to a minimum. That's actually an understatement, but I didn't want it to seem like I was over-exaggerating.

I have been using TOBY since 2017 and it's helped me through all my life journeys... SERIOUSLY. I started using it for high school and university and I am now using it for work purposes. It's also super helpful to use it for personal admin/bureaucracy. I also contact TOBY when in doubt and they respond so quickly to my emails with many tips and tricks to maneuver the extension.

Jay Sparks

I've been using Toby since 2017 and it's changed the way I organize my research. Sharing entire windows full of tabs in one link is great for all kinds of reasons. I organize my kids school links in its own collection I can use as a dashboard. I have one for my parents stuff. It just uses the screen space so much better than Chrome bookmarks and makes organizing them way more productive, offering many more tools for saving time and getting stuff done. The Toby team has always been nice and responsive like a real company should be, unlike many extension publishers who don't provide support.

Jesse Bernal

Awesome program that helps me save time and be more efficient with my work!

Tommy Rose

love it! use it everyday for so many different classes I teach. great time saver. my only complaint is the the extension 'turns off' in chrome and I have re-select it/turn it back on. this occurs at least once a week.

Lochan Wagle

This is a perfect app. Sync with IOS, ANDROID and WEB. Means what do we want more. The UI is perfect and the features of categorization. Really a part of SECOND BRAIN to consider.

YEZI Li

Great plugin, it has become an essential part of my work. If it could support Chrome's Tab Groups, that would be great.

Michael Barnathan

Useful for grouping tabs, but got greedy and started hijacking my new tab page with ads. Off it goes.

TL Gmail

From good to bed, did you guys really test on the cursor pointer. It is ridiculous when u use the note "next" function

Saad Mahi

EXTREMELY GOOD, exept I do want my normal new tab back.

Dmitriy Ritz

The most essential browser extension for me! I used it for years and it has become irreplaceable in my daily life. If you are curious if it’s completely free or charges for the most necessary features - yes it's completely free. My absolute favorite extension. p.s. I just discovered that you can add notes to the collections. the best solution to declutter my apple notes.

Stacey Luce

Been using Toby for nearly 4 years. Helps me organize tabs in ways that increase productivity no end. I'd be lost without it! I recommend it to every new hire on my team. And their customer service is truly the best I've ever experienced.

Butterfly Q

This helps me pick right where I left off and has a lot of features that makes searching through my collections of tabs easy and efficient. Thank you for making this extension!

Zaber Ahmed

This extension should be a separate extension and not a new tab extension. Your feature should be like Session Buddy extension but if you include separate extension feature like Session Buddy, i would switch to your extension instead. If you are tab organizer be a tab organizer and not try to be a new tab thing.

Bob Publik

The product is great. I've been using it for years and customer service is outstanding.
